                                                        Happy Independence Day

The HART Center is growing in a good way. We have just become licensed as a Mental Health Clinic. How exciting is that? We have become certified with The TN Department of Mental Health Division (TNDMH) of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services (DADAS) through DDCAT as Co-Occurring Disorders (COD) capable. We are currently working with a psychiatrist in town who will become part of our staff so we can be certified as enhanced. The HART Center has been working with COD for years but we have not pursued certification we just worked through our license as Clinical Social Workers.

We received a Drug Court grant to work with drug offenders, a Head Start grant to work with preschool children with behavioral problems and their parents and teachers, a Ryan White grant to work with people living with HIV/AIDS, and a forthcoming Aging Commission grant to work with Elders. We are maintaining our grants with DADAS and TNDMH. We are very grateful for all of the funding that we have received so we may provide services for free to those who are eligible who suffer with alcohol and drug problems, mental health issues, and physical concerns. We are so honored to be in service.

We want to thank everyone responsible for sustaining us as we went through the dark night these past several months never knowing if we would have to close the doors for lack of funding. Evelyn, Keith and I wrote some fabulous grants that were funded so we can continue doing the work we are all called here to do.

Thank you for your blessing and prayers during these difficult times. I know that is what sustained us.
