It is important to understand the complexity of issues and an accurate diagnosis when finding a plan that can be successful. We provide additional assessment and recommendations for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders and have created assessment tools to assist in determining risk factors to target interventions to improve success.
We provide counseling services to assist in helping to re align thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to feel reconnected and in balance. For those with mental health concerns it is important to understand how treatment can be misguided if these issues are tangled up in the web of addiction. Understanding how to diagnose and create a plan to address mental health and addiction simultaneously are key in having a successful recovery
We provide out-patient and intensive out-patient treatment and are licensed in Tennessee as a non-residential treatment and out-patient mental health facility. Treatment for Co-occurring disorders (Substance Use and other Disorders such as Mental Health) is a combination of support, education, targeted therapy, and development of support networks. Treatment can be at different intensities or “Levels of Care” including, out-patient, intensive out-patient, detoxification, residential, and partial or full hospitalization.
Trauma group can be to learn new coping skills to manage anxiety and to identify safe and un-safe behaviors. It can also be focused on delving into deeper feelings from the trauma and provide other group members which can offer support or play roles to create interactions to provide opportunities for healing.
We offer gender specific intensive out-patient treatment 9 to 12 hours per week. We offer a morning or an evening track.
Reiki is an energy focused technique that can reduce stress thus is relaxing and helpful in the healing process. It was originally founded by a Japanese Mikao Usui who developed this healing approach. We have found if helpful for many of our clients who are leaning to connect deeper in their intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical self as they develop recovery coping skills. Reiki is a somewhat meditative processes that may assist in learning to listen and quiet the mind when practiced regularly.
In group counseling sessions or transformative workshops using role play and group sculpting the therapist can create an interactive stage to process feelings and relationship dynamics that otherwise seem inescapable. Mandala’s are pictures drawn within a circle to provide a point of focus for meditation. We find this practice particularly helpful after going inward using breath, music, and movement to allow the creative process to open a new technique that enhances conversation with the sub-conscious and spiritual self. This process may allow emotional processing that increases perspective and access to one’s spiritual self on a deeper level.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a technique developed by the American psychologist Dr. Francine Shapiro for resolving traumatic symptoms and disturbing life experiences. This can assist in reducing the intensity of intrusive thoughts or emotions for clients that have been affected or diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
We provide Acupuncture Detoxification or Acudetox. This is a 5-needle protocol licensed by the Tennessee Medical Board. It provides relief from many of the symptoms of detoxification from substance use. The client sits in a comfortable chair and has 5 sterile disposable needles inserted in each ear in specific acupuncture points. After sitting meditatively for approximately 45 minutes the client can feel a deeper sense of calmness and a reduction in stressful symptoms.
We offer a steam shower for clients who may benefit from therapeutic heat to assist in sweating out toxins for the purpose of stress relief and assistance in detoxification without medication.
